As I said before, I have become an aunt. When I was still with my ex I was kinda aunty-ish, but this time it is for real, my own blood (not that that really matters to me), and our family has officially been extended. I am very happy for my brother and his wife, as they seemed so ready for it. Even my parents, who weren’t pushing about wanting to become grandfather and grandma, are extremely happy with the little behbeh.

I used to call her Maple, but now that she has an actual name people will probably make me call her that, hihi. I prefer Maple though, cause she is half Canadian and I love Maple. Everyone else can call her her real name, Emily. I do like the name Emily, as it sounds the exact same in Dutch as in English. It is nice. She is a nice baby too, she was a bit ill at first, but now she is fine, sleeping, pooping, doing all the baby stuff. My bro and his wife seem to be happy parents, and everything is good. I am happy for them, happy for my mom and dad to be able to give some grandparent-loving to this little one, and glad for me too, cause the family line continues without me having to do with it, which is awesome 😉

I am not the youngest in the family anymore, which is pretty new as well, I hope they don’t expect me to act all grown up and stuff, cause I will probably not succeed. 😉 Not the way they picture anyway, hihi. It is cute to see all eyes are on Maple now, she is a very cute little human being and she has a beautiful baby room, a loving family and a pretty great start at life.

I have not yet held her in my arms, but I look forward to holding her tiny little feet in my big hands. I am really curious to see what kind of human she will be, what kind of parents my brother and his wife will be and how much their lives will change. I look forward to having some alone time with Maple one day, make her into a feminist video game girlie. Can’t wait for her to meet the cats! But most of all I hope everyone stays happy and healthy, that’s all that matters after all. 🙂
