Walt Disney Wednesday: Saving Mr. Banks (2013)

Saving Mr. Banks (2013)

Two time Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson play the parts of Walt Disney and P. L. Travers outstandingly lovely. Hanks represents Disney as the visionary and childish person that he was, while Thompson shows the annoying Ms. Travers in a way that is surprisingly cute.

The writer of Mary Poppins was not too fond of getting her Mary on screen and in this film we’ll see who wins: Walt or Pam. Saving Mr. Banks is not just a story of two grown-ups bickering about cartoon penguins. There is a very touching story involved about the woman behind Poppins.
