Walt Disney Wednesday: Chimpanzee (2013)

Chimpanzee (2013)

A few filmmakers (Earth) went to the jungle of Tanzania to film the story of a baby-chimpanzee and his mom. During their three years there, mom got killed by a leopard and the question became who was gonna take care of little Oscar?

Even though the death of the mother-chimp was sad, the outcome is wonderful and pretty Disney-like. This documentary has a big downside: the fact that chimps are nearly extinct is not even mentioned. Also you can question the anthropomorphic way of portraying chimps, but I think it fits Disney and it does no harm in this way.
