Walt Disney Wednesday: The Reluctant Dragon

The Reluctant Dragon (1941)

This is a strange movie, because it’s just a very tiny bit about a Reluctant Dragon and there’s not much animation in there. In this film we follow a guy that has a great story to sell to Disney, but before he sees him, he sneaks around the Disney-building and learns everything about animation.

This is so awesome, to see how animation worked in the 40’s. I liked that different Disney-productions are mentioned in the movie, and the fact that it’s pretty educational on the one hand, but also ‘rewards’ the audience with the little cartoon called The Reluctant Dragon.
